Cupping therapy is based on the Traditional Chinese Medical method of encouraging healing by creating negative pressure via suction. We as massage therapists apply it differently than eastern medicine; the main purposes are to reduce pain and improve soft tissue mobility in the affected area. The vacuum decompresses the area, which may allow tight muscles to relax.  It will increase blood flow to the area, which brings nutrients to help with healing.

Our clients most often experience the benefits of reduced pain, improved soft tissue mobility, increased flexibility and longer lasting results than a regular Swedish or deep tissue massage.

What to expect:
- A therapist will discuss the client's treatment goals for the session, and may ask the client to perform a mobility assessment. This will take no longer than five minutes. 

- The therapist will place various suction cups on the skin, creating a vacuum that lifts the skin and tissue. The therapist may move the cups over the tissue or ask the client to move their body parts.

- The suction cups can remain on the skin for up to 20 minutes. The therapist will ask the client to provide feedback in pressure and tension level. Because pain tolerance varies from person to person, the client will remain in control of the experience at all times. Most of the time, the client will experience a decrease in tension within 90 seconds of the cup placement.

Cupping for Pain Relief: Follow Ups

Visits are catered to each client's comfort level and needs. Clients looking for a relaxing, yet detail oriented treatment will benefit greatly. For the majority of our appointments, you can expect:

- A mobility analysis 
     Example: "Can you move your arm around and show me where it's bothering you?"
- A specific treatment plan 
     Example: "What I think we'll do is have you begin lying face up...etc"
- Summary after treatment
     Example: "How does your arm feel now?" 
- Resources
     Example: "Here's this great youtube video I can send you that demonstrates how to stretch the bicep tendon."

*Please note regarding FULL BODY TREATMENTS - It is STRONGLY recommended to choose between 75, 90 and 105 minutes for full body treatments. We are not a spa. A full body treatment is going to be comprehensive and very different than you'd expect from a spa atmosphere.

Massage: Initial Visit

This treatment is provided AFTER the client's INITIAL VISIT. We will revisit the client's goals and mobility limitations. Techniques may be altered or repeated from the first visit according to each client's results.

After SIX visits, the client has the opportunity to take advantage of the "Subscriber" rate, as long as the client repeats their consecutive visits within 30 days. Please call or text 401 366 4627 with any questions.

Massage: Follow Up

Discounted rate for those who want to make massage part of their recovery or maintenance routine. A signed program agreement is REQUIRED. 

After SIX visits, the client is rewarded a "Subscriber Rate" as long as the client comes in WITHIN 30 DAYS. No exceptions (Sickness, Childcare issue, etc.). If the client's visit is OUTSIDE of the thirty days, the client agrees to pay the "Follow Up" Treatment price.

Massage: Subscriber Visit

This treatment is ideal for those who find it difficult to schedule in rest time. 

Get all the benefits of a therapeutic massage, and enjoy a blissful fifteen minute rest with a weighted blanket and eye mask after your treatment is complete. 

Therapist wakes you with a knock on the door after fifteen minutes.

Massage: Nap Time Included

Massage is appropriate in every stage of pregnancy, despite what you may have heard. This service is designed to assist the active mother or mother-to-be to continue to move comfortably throughout her pregnancy and postpartum years. We want you to feel empowered to trust your body's process. Each of our staff members are trained from a different prenatal massage certification, so techniques will vary. The therapist will use bolsters and pregnancy support pillows for maximum comfort. The table may or may not be heated depending on the stage of pregnancy. 

Massage can alleviate pain, decrease stress, and build healthy, mindful awareness in the fantastic changes you will be experiencing.

Massage: Prenatal/Postnatal

Some folks tend to extend their appointments with conversation. This treatment allows plenty of relaxed space for one to one conversation integrated with health coaching so the treatment is productive, the massage therapist remains within their scope of practice, and is paid for their time. Round out your self care with a 90 minute appointment focused on just you!
